Care notes for every plant

Sunlight

Full sun, 4 to 6 hours. Morning sun is ideal.

Through the seasons

Thrives in summer and the monsoon. Frost and cold winds can kill it, so keep it against a wall and cover it on cold nights.

Comfortable at 12–42°C

Care steps

  1. Pinch off the flower spikes (manjari) to keep fresh leaves coming.
  2. Water at the base. It hates waterlogged soil in the monsoon.
  3. Sow fresh seeds in March or April to replace old plants.
